IP MAN is a 2008 semi-biographical martial arts film based on the life of IP MAN, a grandmaster of the martial art WING CHUN and the first person to teach the art openly, during the Second Sino-Japanese War. One of his students was the widely influential and acclaimed martial artist and filmmaker BRUCE LEE. The film was directed by WILSON YIP, and stars DONNIE YEN, with martial arts choreography by SAMMO HUNG.

With this film being a period drama set in China, MOJO worked with a calligrapher to create the Chinese text in calligraphic brush strokes, to bring out the essence and sophistication of Chinese martial arts and to augment the historical nature of the film. Animated brush strokes, ink blotches, traditional signature stamps and Chinese-patterned fabric were commonplace back in the olden days; these very elements were the inspiration that was brought to life through this promo for MEDIACORP CHANNEL U.
