As we move further into the age of connectivity, BLACKBERRY sits at its helm and is dedicated to pioneering the future of communications. BLACKBERRY DIGITAL CINEMA 2009 is a new short film initiative by BLACKBERRY that pushes the boundaries of conventional cinema to uncover forward thinking filmmakers and storytellers. It is a new short film and motion graphics platform that aims to nurture the industry through giving emerging filmmakers a platform to showcase their work.
To launch the initiative, 5 unconventional filmmakers (JOKO ANWAR, POLYNOID, DA JOINT, RESN, BRIAN GOTHONG TAN) were commissioned to create 5 short films based on the theme - "Black and White with a dash of Colour". MOJO was engaged by marketing agency KULT to tie up the 5 films into a 60sec trailer, and we were given absolute freedom to create our own graphics that is in line with the same theme. We decided to play with glass balls and set them running wild on tunnels of film strips in a virtual world of pure black and white.
